PRIZES FOR EXCELLENCE PROJECTS: a yearly review for excellence projects of local and central public administrations; an observatory for the best practices that is now an important point of reference for "innovators".

• FORUM PA NET :this newsletter is for innovators and it fosters discussions about current subjects for political reforms, best practice, web sites, events and initiatives which mark a turning point for the public administration.
• Altra PA Net : this newsletter is dedicated to the technological innovation. An opening on the Public Administration that changes: projects, solutions, interviews to the main actors, researches to understand how to use the ICT to improve public services.

• The First Conference of Project Financing in Public Administration supported by the Technical Unit for Project Financing of the Ministry of Economics and Finance (june 2005);
• Meeting for introducing the Code of Digital Administration supported by the Ministry for Innovation and Technologies and an editorial office for web site www.padigitale.it (January 2005);
• Venti convegni regionali per divulgare il piano di e-government insieme con Formez, Dipartimento per l'Innovazione e le Tecnologie e Dipartimento della Funzione Pubblica (tra dicembre 2001 e giugno 2004) a cui hanno partecipato oltre 15.000 persone.
• More than ten events all over Italy dedicated to innovation in Public Administration: from the electronic protocol to the reform of local public services, from federalism to territorial development ect...
• Two editions of Global Junior Challenge on behalf of Comune di Roma (October 2000, December 2002): an important international prize dedicated to initiatives that introduce young people in digital era.
• "La Pubblica Amministrazione che cambia: una riforma dei cittadini" (The Public Administration changes: a reform of citizens) a meeting for public administration managers and officials realised for the Department of Public Service and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (march 2000);
• "PolisEurope-Politics on Information Society in Europe" realised in collaboration with Censis - Institute of Studies for Social Investments for the European Commission and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (March 1999): the most important meeting of the European Commission on this subject in Italy.

Missions and values

• Organizational models based on responsibility; the right separation between politics and administration, a precise evaluation of outcomes, an effective check system aiming at a new staff management according to the acknowledgment of merits and to management by objectives;
  
  
• The concrete practice of subsidiarity considering society as a resource for public action spurring administrations to keep more attention on controls;
  
  
• Principles of vertical support letting public administrations get closer to citizens and companies through a real administrative decentralization
  
  
• The right of citizens and companies to relate with the Public Administration based on an administrative simplification, transparecy, quality for public services;
  
  
• A revolution in the organizational system of the public administration that creates, through ICT, a flexible and lean administration that aims at best services and it's close to citizens needs.

Strategies and actions

• Organizing meetings for citizens, companies and public administrations interested in public reforms (an important yearly exhibition, hundreds meetings, workshops, training courses);
  
  
• Creating the possibility for operators to have a debate "on line" through web sites;
  
  
• Spurring the birth of a "community for committed and motivated operators";
  
  
• Supporting a permanent benchmarking among several administrative offices to mark success and failures during the years;
  
  
• Determining in particular sectors of the public action best practices to be developed, known and to be awarded with the conviction that sharing experiences is the best way to learn.
